O most glorious wonder!
The source of life is laid in a tomb,
and the tomb becomes a ladder to heaven!
O happy grave of the Mother of God!
Come, O faithful, led by Gabriel, let us cry:
"Hail, O full of grace! The Lord is with you,
granting the world great mercy through you!"
Great are your mysteries, pure lady!
You were made the throne of God most high,
and today you are taken from earth to heaven,
clothed with the radiant glory of divine grace.
O choir of virgins and souls of the righteous,
sing, as the Mother of the King ascends on high:
"Hail, O full of grace! The Lord is with you,
granting the world great mercy through you!"
All the hosts of heaven glorify your Dormition:
dominions and thrones, principalities and powers,
the cherubim and the fearful seraphim.
All those who dwell on earth rejoice,
adorned by your divine glory.
We sing with the archangels and angels:
"Hail, O full of grace! The Lord is with you,
granting the world great mercy through you!"
